Dear colleagues,

Research into infectious diseases is vital for protecting public health, driving forward medical science, and tackling global health challenges head-on. A deep comprehension of the origins, transmission routes, and dynamics of infectious diseases is pivotal for devising effective strategies for their prevention, containment, and treatment. This research is indispensable in the battle against the spread of pathogens, enhancing healthcare outcomes, and nurturing overall global well-being.

It has become an esteemed tradition for the German Society for Infectious Diseases (DGI) and the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) to co-host their biennial conferences. This event has firmly established itself as a notable platform for professionals from diverse disciplines to exchange ideas, share insights, and initiate collaborations on ground-breaking research. Amidst the continuously evolving terrain of infectious diseases, this congress also acts as a platform fostering education and career development of young researchers working on infectious diseases.

This year’s conference will offer an extended programme, including a second track dedicated to clinical practice, and an emphasis on current and future challenges in infectious diseases such as postinfectious syndromes, gender specific susceptability and phage therapy.

We are honored to extend our warm welcome to you for the DGI / DZIF Joint Meeting in February 2025 in Munich, Holiday Inn Munich - City Centre.
